Training comes in many forms, and one such tried and tested format is 'Test Training'.
A new GDG member keen to explore all we have to offer as a Group recently asked what does Test Training involve?
Test Training gives you a chance to gain feedback from a BD judge, in an informal and relaxed setting.
Once you have booked on to a Test Training event, you will be asked which test you would like to practice. You can pick a test from the current tests available from BD, and once you have decided which one you would like to do, the wonderful cogs at GDG will work its little miracles and ensure there are two copies of your chosen test sheet available on the day for the judge to write her comments on. Nearer the time you will be emailed your allocated time. You will be allocated a 30-minute slot. Your aim should be to arrive in plenty time to of at least had a short warm up before the start of your slot. You will need to decide if you wish to ride through your chosen test at the beginning of your 30-minute slot or near the end, the choice is yours. You can choose to have a good 20min warmup in the dressage arena before you ride the test, or you go straight in and ride the test like a competition, then receive feedback and maybe ride thru some of the more difficult movements or even ride the test a 2nd time. The Judge will work you at your pace, and offers a flexible attitude to ensure your needs are met. Our next Test Training dates will be on the website as they are organised, so please take advantage of this opportunity to take the Stress out of Dressage and enjoy your horse!
